Michael Foy

Michael Foy qualified in 1977 Southampton University and went on to do Orthopaedic training with the Royal Air Force in Nottingham.  He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon since 1989 initially at PA(H) RAF Wroughton and since August 1993 at Princess Margaret now Great Western Hospital Swindon.  Michael now has private practice base at Ridgeway Hospital, Wroughton and at 10 Harley Street, London.

His main area of specialisation is in spinal surgery with general orthopaedics (hip and knee) and trauma.

Michael is the author of various papers and presentations on back pain and trauma. Extensive medico-legal practice (negligence and personal injury). Author/Co-Editor of standard text in medicolegal practice “Medicolegal Reporting in Orthopaedic Trauma” now in its third edition with fourth edition due to be published in September/October 2010 .

Personal Profile

His interests outside orthopaedics include sport, travel and theatre. Michael is also a keen golfer. From an early age he has had an interest in horse racing/breeding. As a consequence of this, many of the racing fraternity (jockeys, trainers, etc) are patients.
