Events Organiser (temporary - 6 month fixed contract)
Salary £20,000 pro rata

The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) has been fighting for the rights of injured people since 1990. A not-for-profit campaign organisation, APIL’s 3,400 member lawyers (mainly solicitors, barristers and legal executives) are dedicated to protecting and enhancing access to justice, changing the law, and improving the services provided for victims of personal injury.

Over the years APIL has grown to become the leading, most respected organisation in this field, constantly working to promote and develop expertise in the practise of personal injury law, for the benefit of injured people.

One of the ways by which APIL develops expertise is through the provision of education and training. A vacancy has occurred for an experienced events organiser to organise and attend a designated number of training events. The successful applicant must possess the following:

  • A strong administrative background
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (OUTLOOK, WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise
  • High level of competency in written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service skills
  • A confident and professional telephone manner

The successful applicant will become a crucial link in a very busy events team, and must be willing to travel to major city centres, staying overnight as appropriate. Accommodation and travel is provided.

You will be communicating with leading practitioners within the industry, as well as liaising with speakers, venues and hospitality staff. You will also work closely with the Senior Events & Marketing Officer developing the events from inception right through to completion, including the regular updating of budgets.
