A Senior Litigator acts for the victims of accidents, disease and injury and seeks to establish, assert and enforce their rights through negotiation, mediation or litigation.

A Senior Litigator is competent to identify liability, assess and manage risk, to be self-authorising at all key stages of litigation, and to lead and supervise the work of other PI lawyers.

Become an accredited senior litigator in 4 simple steps

Step 1
Download the relevant Portfolio document and complete the candidate sections.
New applicants - Portfolio Upgrade for accredited Litigators* - Portfolio
*please note Litigators who gained automatic accreditation through Law Society PI Panel membership prior to October 2012 must apply as new applicants
Step 2
Appoint an assessor. Who can be an assessor?
Step 3
Discuss each section of the Portfolio with assessor who completes the assessor sections.
Step 4
Save or print a copy of the Portfolio to retain in-house. Delete the ‘case names’ column before printing/copying, signing and sending the Portfolio to APIL.
