Training for expert witnesses

APIL’s training events for expert witnesses are geared towards both claimant and defendant experts. The courses aim to deliver practical guidance to assist you in developing the skills and knowledge required to become a good expert. They can serve as an introduction but also as a refresher, to improve your current skill-set.

Attendance at Parts 1 and 2 below, enables an APIL Tier 1 expert to include one star (*) or two stars (**) against their status in the expert witness search

About APIL expert witness training

APIL is the UK's leading claimant injury lawyer association, with over 30 years experience in delivering tailored legal training.

Our expert witness training will equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to efficiently support personal injury cases.

To maintain APIL’s high quality standards, all legal training is carefully monitored and the feedback scrutinised by APIL’s training & accreditation committee and executive.

Showcase your knowledge

Our expert witness search contains five tiers of experts to help our lawyers choose the right specialist:

  • 1st tier 2 star experts have been recommended by a member & attended 2 APIL expert witness courses
  • 1st tier 1 star experts have been recommended by a member & attended 1 APIL expert witness course
  • 1st tier experts have been recommended by APIL members
  • 2nd tier experts do not yet have an APIL member reference, but are members of recognised expert witness organisations, such as the Academy of Experts
  • 3rd tier experts are those which fit neither the 1st or 2nd tier criteria.
