Notable cases

• Dominique acted for a cyclist who was knocked off his bike by a drunk driver. He shattered his knee-cap and had 4 operations in the following 3 years. One operation was paid for privately with an interim payment obtained from the Defendant's insurers. Dominique recovered nearly £250,000 for this client to take account of the severe injury he suffered, his loss of income together with his future needs, including the cost of further private surgery.
• Dominique represented a man who was injured at a go-karting race track. His kart broke down and he moved his kart off the track. The marshals failed to stop the other karts on the track. Unfortunately another kart came off the track and collided with him. He sustained a severe fracture of his thigh bone (his femur). He had numerous operations but would be unable to return to his pre accident manual work. The claim was pursued against the owners and occupiers of the track who initially denied any liability for the incident. The claim settled for over £250,000.
• Dominique acted for a teenager who was injured in a road traffic accident. He was riding his motorcycle when he had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with a motorcyclist in front of him. He collided with a barrier at the side of the road and sustained severe injuries to his leg requiring months of treatment and rehabilitation. Dominique recovered him £120,000 which was reduced by 25% to reflect he shared some responsibility for the accident occurring (i.e. he was contributory negligent).
• Dominique has acted for a number of families who sustained psychological injuries (including post traumatic stress disorder) as a result of experiencing fires at their homes which were caused by faulty dishwashers.

Profile

Dominique joined Thomson Snell and Passmore as a trainee solicitor in September 2003 and qualified in September 2005. She completed her degree in Law with Management Science at Keele University and her Legal Practice Course (“LPC”) at The College of Law, London. She completed her LPC with Distinction.
