About Edmund Young
I am the Head of Industrial Disease in London and lead a team of expert asbestos lawyers.
I have worked in the area of industrial disease since 1989 and am an expert in handling all types of industrial disease cases, particularly those relating to all types of asbestos related illness.
I deal with high value and complex cases litigated in the High Court. I was the conducting solicitor in the case of White-v- ESAB which challenged the method for calculating future losses in fatal mesothelioma case.
I run a number of low level exposure mesothelioma cases, which include acting for a former pupil who was exposed to asbestos in her high school. I secured an interim payment of £100k to cover the cost of immunotherapy treatment for a client suffering from mesothelioma, which is cutting edge treatment for this type of lung cancer.
I am renowned for my excellent client care and strive to achieve the best outcomes for my clients.
I have acted for many union clients and secured significant damages on their behalf. I have also acted for former dockers, boilerman, engineers, laggers, pipefitters, plumbers and electricians.
I have brought successful claims against public landlords, hospitals, ship builders, the former CEGB, power stations, and the MOD in respect of asbestos exposure.
I attendee the asbestos sub-parliamentary committee of the House of Commons, which debates on all issues concerning asbestos led campaigns. I am a staunch supporter of asbestos led campaigns such as Asbestos in Schools and the HSE Hidden Killer campaign.
I have also been involved in a number of charity fundraising events.
