About Emma Melia
I work as a lead litigator within the Serious Injury Department specialising in catastrophic and complex injury such as, brain (head) injury, spinal and back injury (tetra and para plegia), complex orthopaedic injury, pain syndromes ( CRPS), fatal accidents, and amputation. I act for a number of survivors who have lost capacity under the MCA 2005.
I am determined and persistent with the sole aim of achieving a fair outcome for victims of wrongful acts. My focus is to obtain early interim payments and rehabilitation/ treatment and care as soon as possible, wherever possible, as well as maximising the final award of compensation to enable the injured to be as independent as possible and achieve the best quality of life possible.
I have over 20 years experience working in serious personal injury litigation with a broad range of accidents, including road traffic accidents, cycling accidents , psychiatric damage, and claims under the Criminal injuries and Motors Insurance Bureau Schemes.
Above all I am passionate and enjoy what I do. I genuinely care about the people I represent.
I am a committee member of Headway North Derbyshire which is part of Headway UK, (The Brain Injury Charity.
