About Fraser Simpson
I qualified as a solicitor in 1990, and joined Scotland's largest personal injury claimant firm, Digby Brown LLP in 2000. In 2009 I took charge of our Union client department, specialising in litigating employers' liability claims, culminating in the successful landmark Supreme Court case of Kennedy v Cordia (Services) LLP [2016] UKSC 6. In 2011, I became head of our specialist Industrial Disease department which is responsible for many of the leading Scottish asbestos litigation authorities. I am accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in personal injury and in 2008 was invited to become a Solicitor member of the Sheriff Court Rules Council. I continue to serve as a member of the Personal Injury Committee of the Scottish Civil Justice Council where I have been involved in the drafting of Compulsory Pre Action Protocols for both Personal Injury and Industrial Disease claims. I am accredited as Senior Litigator and Occupational Disease and Asbestos Disease Specialist by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). In addition to my legal commitments, I volunteer as a media spokesperson for Brake, the road safety charity in Scotland.
