About Jatinder Paul
Jatinder is a Senior Associate Solicitor specialising in international serious injury, with particular experience in group litigation and cross border disputes.
Jatinder has developed a specialism in UK food poisoning outbreak group claims and currently pursues a number of group action claims as a result of illness outbreaks in hotels, restaurants and holiday resorts.
He manages a large team at Irwin Mitchell's Birmingham office which primarily deals with group actions against UK based tour operators, or single party actions against defendants in foreign countries (often working with foreign lawyers).
An example of his case load includes the high-profile Steigenberger Aqua Magic outbreak in Egypt in 2018 where holidaymakers sadly lost their lives as a result of E.Coli, and he continues to act for a number of families who have lost loved ones as a result of bacterial illnesses such as Salmonella and Legionnaires' Disease.
Jatinder is also developing a niche specialism in cases relating to Guillan-Barre Syndrome which is a known complication from Campylobacter food poisoning, and often results in neurological complications including paralysis and catastrophic long-term complications.
Jatinder is an APIL Fellow and an Assessor for the APIL Accidents and Illnesses Abroad accreditation. In 2019, Jatinder was elected Secretary of the International Special Interest Group for APIL.
