About Jill Paterson
Jill is a Partner at Leigh Day with over 16 years of experience in product liability and consumer law. She is a passionate campaigner for consumer rights. She has acted in a wide variety of both individual and multi-party product liability claims and has successfully resolved cases involving allegedly defective pharmaceuticals, medical devices and electrical products.
Jill currently represents patients who have received various types of failed knee and hip components, heart defibillator leads, and who were involved in clinical trials. She leads a team of metal on metal hip claim lawyers on cases relating to the Biomet M2a-38 and Biomet M2a-Magnum, Corin Cormet and Wright Conserve devices.
Jill is regularly instructed by people who have been involved in house fires allegedly caused by faulty white goods. The recent high profile Benjamin inquest led to calls for an overhaul of the law relating to product safety and recall, including a review of the recall system by consumer campaigner Lynn Faulds-Woods.
Jill is the co-ordinator of APIL's Multi-Party Special Interest Group and a member of APIL's Consumer Panel.
"She is very regarded, phenomenally bright, with a wealth of experience. She's seen and done it all." Chambers & Partners 2016
