About Jonathan Rees

Jon has over 20 years' of experience of personal injury litigation. Jon is a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and is a former member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. Jon began his career in 1996 with Hugh James where he was a partner prior to joining Brethertons in October 2011. His background is in representing claimants in high value personal injury claims and in group actions. Having assisted with the British Coal Respiratory Disease Litigation and other group actions, Jon was the Court appointed lead solicitor in the Akehurst & Others v Thomson Holidays Ltd (‘The Gerona Air Crash Group Litigation’). Jon's main focus now is in helping claimants who have suffered life changing injuries but with a particular focus on spinal cord injuries and irerspective of how those injuries came to be caused. In his time at Brethertons Jon has secured close to £100m in compensation (lump sum equivalent) for seroiusly injured claimants where the injuries have arisen in road traffic collisions, at work, in public places or as a result of clinical negligence. Jon and his team assist spinal cord injured clients all over the country.
