Miranda Becher has worked as a solicitor at Drummond Miller LLP in Edinburgh since graduating LLB (Hons), Dip. L.P. from the University of Edinburgh in 1995. She was assumed as a Partner of the firm on 1 December 2012. She specialises in personal injury and clinical negligence litigation in the Court of Session (Scotland's top civil court). A number of her cases have been decided in the House of Lords (now the UK Supreme Court), and have clarified or restated the law relating to personal injury matters for legal practitioners across the UK (eg Simmons v British Steel [2004] UKHL 20; Spencer-Franks v Kellog Brown & Root [2008] UKHL 46). She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Personal Injury Law and by APIL as a Senior Litigator.
