Richard is a senior litigator and a brain injury specialist

He currently holds the position of co-ordinator at the APIL brain injury special interest group. 

Together with the secretary of the group, David Withers, they have organised a series of online talks with external speakers so that group meetings, and continuing professional education, can proceed whilst restrictions remain on formal gatherings.

Richard is a renowned UK personal injury specialist. He has recovered more than £100 million in damages for clients.

He was involved in the case of Connor v Castle Cement and Others [2016] EWHC 300 (QB) the first civil case where a registered intermediary was allowed in a trial.

Richard has given talks for APIL and defendant organisations, such as the Motor Insurer’s Bureau. He has also appeared in the press and on TV and radio in connection with matters associated with personal injury. He is also Secretary of Aftermath Support Ltd, a charity working with Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire Police, to provide advice and support to the victims of road traffic collisions.

Richard is married with a young daughter; he enjoys spending time with his family, cinema, cycling and foreign travel.
