About Richard Scorer

Richard is Head of Abuse Law and Public Inquiries at Slater & Gordon. He specialises in child abuse and serious injury cases. Richard is ranked as a Band1 "Leader in the Field" of personal injury in Chambers Independent Legal Guide, and as a “Leading Individual” in Legal 500. He has been described in the legal directories as a "pioneering lawyer" with a “phenomenal reputation”. 

Richard qualified as a solicitor with Pannone & Partners in 1994 and became a Partner in 1998. From 2009-2014 he was Head of Personal Injury and a Board Member at Pannone. Richard was a co-founder of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers (ACAL). He is the co-author of the book “Guide to Child Abuse Compensation Claims” - 3rd edition published 2020- and in 2014 published a study of the Catholic abuse crisis. Richard has acted in many high profile and landmark cases for victims of child abuse and has taken cases to the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. He is also very experienced in inquiries law, having represented many victims and survivors in the Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse (IICSA). He also acted for some of the families of the bereaved in the Manchester Arena bombing public inquiry and is acting for victims' families in the Lucy Letby public inquiry.
