About Sophie Nicol
Sophie is a solicitor at Hugh James with a significant background in personal injury claims.
Sophie predominantly specialises in employers and public liability claims although her experience also extends to a full range of personal injury matters. Including but not limited to; road traffic accidents, sport injury claims, international package holiday claims and occupiers liability matters.
Alongside her personal injury case load, she represents individuals who have suffered a misuse of their private information and/or data protection breaches whereby, the distress is often of such a level that it amounts to the suffering of a psychological injury.
Career history;
Sophie joined Hugh James in 2019 having joined from a specialist personal injury firm. She has been on the committee for the Junior Law Division of Cardiff and South East Wales since 2021. She was awarded APIL Litigator accreditation in June 2022 and Senior Litigator accreditation in September 2024.
Sophie has future ambitions to secure her higher rights of audience allowing her to expand on and develop her advocacy experience.
Personal life:
Outside of Sophie's work commitments she plays for the only women’s American Football team in Wales and is passionate about animals.
