About Vijay Ganapathy
Vijay has many years’ experience of representing occupational disease (mostly asbestos disease) and other personal injury claimants.
He is accredited as a Senior Litigator of APIL and holds specialist accreditation for Occupational and Asbestos Disease claims. He was recently appointed by APIL to act as an assessor for others seeking similar accreditation.
He is best known for having acted for Mr Chandler in Chandler v Cape plc [2012] EWCA which set a legal precedent as it was the first case of its kind to hold a parent company liable for one of its subsidiary’s operations.
He regularly writes articles and contributes to various journals including the New Law Journal and JPIL. He has been writing the tri-monthly personal injury update for the Solicitors Journal for the last 7 years.
Vijay is frequently invited to give talks and as an example, last year, he lectured doctorate students at Oxford University on corporate accountability and asbestos litigation.
