Central London barrister elected into top legal role

APIL news

A local barrister has been elected onto the national executive committee of an organisation which campaigns for justice for injured people.

Richard Baker will join the executive committee of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and help lead the 3,500-strong membership.

“I am a looking forward to joining APIL’s executive committee,” said Richard. “As an organisation, APIL seeks to protect the rights of injured and bereaved people. This is often done in the face of hostile opposition from organisations whose primary goal is to protect profit for their shareholders. I hope to help further APIL’s objectives and provide my perspective as a personal injury and clinical negligence barrister. In particular, I hope to bring focus on the harm that is done to the bereaved by the present system and work towards correcting that.”

Richard is a barrister at 7BR chambers in London.
