A Scottish solicitor has, for the first time, taken on a leading role at an organisation that campaigns for the rights of injured people.
Gordon Dalyell, who is the first Scottish president of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) will work across the UK to tackle the challenges faced by people who have been injured through no fault of their own.
“As I step into this role I will work as hard as I can to ensure that the interests of injured people are at the very forefront of everything we do. It is only fair that people injured, often critically, through no fault of their own have the chance to rebuild their lives. Damages must meet their needs.
“As president I look forward to helping APIL do more for injured people by continuing our campaigns to improve their lives, and defending them when Government reforms fail to recognise what is fair.”
Mr Dalyell is a partner at Digby Brown Solicitors in Scotland.
