David Sanchez Almagro is a partner at Estudio Jurídico Almagro SLP in Madrid.
David is specialised in claims where foreign tourists have sustained injuries in Spain. He has represented over 300 British nationals seeking compensation for damages before the Spanish courts in claims arising out of accidents occurred in Spain.
David also acts regularly as expert witness in matters brought before the Courts of England and Wales where Spanish law needs to be applied to deal with liability and quantum issues. He has acted as expert witness before the High Court of Justice - Queen’s Bench Division in London in high profile cases including “Bacon v. Nacional Suiza” and “Hoteles Piñero Canarias SL v Keefe”.
As an expert in the field of personal injury, David has written several articles on personal injury and insurance related matters, including direct action, compensation for loss of earnings and procedural matters. David has published about the new regulations on the assessment of damages which have entered into force in Spain in January 2016. Over the last years David has given training on the Spanish regulations on the assessment of damages to English firms acting for both claimants and defendants.
