Nicholas Leahy

I am an Associate and Solicitor Advocate in the Clinical Negligence Department at Osbornes Law. I have experience in birth injuries, gynaecological injuries, wrongful birth, stillbirth, delayed diagnosis of cancer, dental negligence, neurological/stroke injuries and fatal cases. I am able to represent clients at all stages of proceedings, from initial investigations to trial. I recognise the fundamental importance of excellent client care and strive to make myself available and accessible to my clients as much as possible.

I am particularly interested in delayed diagnosis of cancer cases and the complex causation issues that often arise in these circumstances.

I have also acted for secondary victims and I am well acquainted with the law in this area.

I am frequently instructed on behalf of families to represent them at inquests and I can advise on potential funding options for such representation. I appreciate the sensitive nature of these proceedings and I aim to ensure that they are as stress free as possible for the families I represent.

I was granted higher rights of audience in the civil courts in November 2023.

In the 2023 edition of The Legal 500 I was recognised as someone who "works extremely hard and understands the commercial sensitivities of clinical negligence litigation".

I am accredited as a Litigator by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and am a member of SCIL.

I am also able to advise clients in relation to claims for breach of data protection legislation, breach of confidence and misuse of private information. I can advise on damages which can be recovered in these cases.

I am a keen long distance runner, most recently running the Boston Marathon in April 2024.
