Deanne qualified as an occupational therapist in 1985. She has worked extensively as a senior/specialist occupational therapist and manager in a variety of hospital and community settings, taking sole responsibility for the management of complex cases including neurological conditions, spinal injuries, amputees and orthopaedic conditions.
Additionally, she has previously worked as a brain injury case manager. In recent years she has worked in a specialist NHS chronic pain clinic, helping to set up and run a successful multi-disciplinary pain management programme (PMP). She has actively participated in the British Pain Society PMP Special Interest Group, advising on the role of occupational therapy.
Deanne has undertaken expert witness work since 2008 and has prepared in excess of 500 reports for clients in the UK, Europe and USA.
