Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Lead for Clinical Governance and Patient Safety, Salford Royal Hospital and Vice-President of RCEM
Dr Carole Gavin has been a consultant in emergency medicine at Salford Royal Hospital for the past 21 years and is the emergency department lead for clinical governance and patient safety.
She has an interest in acute neurology and has served on several NICE guideline committees including stroke, headache and suspected neurological conditions.
She is currently a vice president of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and a CQC specialty advisor.
She has over 10 years’ experience of medicolegal expert work including providing expert opinion for both the claimant and defendant in clinical negligence litigation and acting as an expert witness for both the prosecution and defence in criminal cases including assault and sexual offences, including report writing and giving oral evidence in court.
