Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 and is an experienced personal injury solicitor who has specialised in severe catastrophic injury claims acting for both children and adults for the last twenty-five years.
She has a particular interest in acquired brain injury, rehabilitation and “capacity” and is a firm believer that the early introduction of rehabilitation assists all parties to bring claims to a satisfactory resolution. Nicola adopts a multi-disciplinary approach liaising; with the medical teams, case managers and the Court of Protection where necessary.
Nicola is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. She is an APIL accredited brain injury specialist and an Assessor for APIL for the Injury Specialist Panel. Nicola has an MSc in Brain Injury Rehabilitation from the University of Wales, Swansea; the only lawyer to have been awarded this postgraduate degree.
Beyond her personal practice, Nicola has been a Visiting Lecturer with Birmingham University and the University of Gloucestershire and is a Lay Member of the Research and Ethics Committee for Wales.
