Jane Anderson

Lead Practice Development Lawyer – Senior Associate, Irwin Mitchell LLP

Jane has considerable experience in professional negligence actions but has a particular focus on acting for specialist lenders with complex borrower histories and lending policies. Jane also acts on more general commercial litigation matters. 

She qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and has practised as a Practice Development Lawyer since April 2020.

Highlights:

Jane acted for the successful respondent in the case of Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust v Haywood [2018] in the Supreme Court.

Jane has acted against a number of national surveying firms, and successfully personally negotiated settlements on a group action involving in excess of 30 claims against one firm.

Jane has successfully pursued solicitors on matters concerning fraud, negligence and breach of trust matters.

Jane now supports Irwin Mitchell’s national Commercial Dispute Resolution team, their Intellectual Property team and their Regulatory and Criminal team. She manages their knowledge systems and ensures that the team is kept up-to-date with the latest developments affecting the team’s clients and practice.
