Rebecca currently combines her role as a treating dietitian for clients with complex rehabilitation needs following birth, brain, spinal or other injuries following negligence, with roles as an honorary lecturer for the MSc Nutrition and Dietetics course at the University of Hull and as a writer and editor for professional publications.
Her capabilities as a treating clinician, in particular for those with catastrophic injuries, allow her to provide a unique understanding of the longer-term needs for clients post injury, for quantum reports to fulfil the necessary criteria for the court.
Rebecca held the position of Lead Dietitian at a leading neuro-rehabilitation inpatient unit for over 8 years, enabling her to comment on the dietetic needs through the rehabilitation journey from inpatient to home. Rebecca treats equal numbers of children and adults in her freelance practice, and therefore, particularly for children, has a genuine understanding of transition of care through NHS, private and case management services, as children develop in to adults, and is privileged to support adults who have been living for over 30 years with their acquired injury. Rebecca has over 10 years’ experience in acute and community settings in the NHS and specialised in a variety of clinical areas.
Rebecca has prepared a significant number of quantum reports across the Scottish and English and Welsh courts for children and adults diagnosed with cerebral palsy following medical negligence. Since 2019, Rebecca has provided her expert witness reports to the court exclusively through Bush and Co.
