Jim Hester
Jim Hester is a highly-respected personal injury barrister who is nationally recognised for his technical knowledge of occupational disease cases and the associated nuances arising in this often-complex area of law. He acts across all areas of personal injury work, including accidents involving military personnel. His 10-years’ experience as a Major in the Royal Marines Commandos prior to joining the Bar gives great insight into such cases. Since 2020 he has been appointed to the Attorney General’s Panel of Counsel to the Crown and is routinely instructed to represent public bodies, including the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Justice, and other government departments. Jim is currently supervising his second pupil within Chambers. He finds being able to contribute to the future of Chambers and the Bar generally a great privilege. His practical application of the law, combined with shrewd tactics, ensures he is routinely ranked in the two main legal directories. Jim believes in building a strong instructing solicitor/barrister relationship to bring each case to the best possible conclusion. His natural client rapport makes him a popular choice of counsel for both claimants and defendants.
