Alison Taylor

Head of Training and a Senior Consultant at FTL

Alison Taylor is Head of Training and a Senior Consultant at Frenkel Topping. In addition to writing and researching the modules for the FTG Knowledge Hub, being a mentor for the Graduate programme, and organising the annual conference for professional deputies, she practises as an expert witness and as a senior consultant working with the legal teams and families of those with acquired brain injury or major spinal cord injuries during the litigation process and thereafter. After graduating from the University of Birmingham in International Studies & French, she moved to Oxford, with a scholarship, to train in Mental Rehabilitation & Social Welfare with the Richmond Fellowship.

She has specialized in the investment & protection of damages awards for vulnerable clients for the last 40 years. She has been involved in many leading cases, including Wells v Wells, both from the investment perspective and as a Court Expert for Structured Settlements, Periodic Payment Orders and Personal Injury Trusts.

Alison has regularly run workshops for lawyers on various aspects of her role as an IFA working alongside the legal profession & has been featured both in the mainstream and legal press. Alison is an active supporter & trainer for APIL, PIBA, Headway, the SIA and AVMA. The Guardian neatly summarized her work as that of a Financial Social Worker who loves her job.
