Hector Stamboulieh

In-house Counsel, ARAG

Hector qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and went straight into personal injury and clinical negligence work with a number of Bristol firms. He qualified as a Panel Specialist and an APIL Fellow working in this field for nearly 25 years, before becoming an independent legal consultant.

In 2015 he became In House Counsel for ARAG plc Legal Expenses Insurer, based in Bristol.

He is currently involved in advising ARAG Germany on specific UK legal issues, advising UK firms involved in clinical negligence claims on their risk assessment processes, on-boarding new firms for ATE LEI and advance disbursement funding, auditing existing firms using ARAG plc products, reviewing high value ATE/BTE LEI “top up” claims and advising on group actions and policy exempted individual cases.

He is married, has two independent minded daughters and for light relief to escape the rigors of legal practise, has served at home and abroad as an army reservist and ACF officer for over 35 years, finishing as Vice President of the national Cadet Forces Commissions Board.
